The Truth About Cats & Dogs
As Reviewed by James Brundage
This romantic-comedy that resembles Roxanne is about an unattractive woman with low-self esteem, Dr. Abbey Barnes, a veterinarian with a call-in radio show. She meets the love of her life (Brian), but believes herself to be too unattractive to be in a relationship with him. However, she decides upon impulse to describe herself over the phone to Brian as her next door neighbor, a model named Noell (Played by Uma Thurman). She then stands up Brian, but he comes to the station where he meets Noell by accident.
The movie itself is funny at parts, but its one that you should see for the love, not the laughs. As far as the love goes, there are some scenes (specifically one dealing with phone sex) that should be edited or should have the rating bumped up to R.
